Charles Desire Hue
French, 1842-1899

Charles Hue was a pupil of Robert Fleury and Caraud.  He exhibited at the Paris Salon, and gained an honorable mention in 1883.  Hue enjoyed painting 18th Century scenes, and often used Jean Jacques Rousseau and his works, as well as Prevost’s novel Manon Lescaut-as his subjects.
