Elizabeth Clay Fisher
American, 1871-1959

Elizabeth was born in Dedham, Massachusetts. She began her education at Smith College in Northampton, Ma., and later studied at the Boston Museum School and the New York School of Art.  She later studied under William Merrit Chase and Robert Henri in Paris and Madrid.  She exhibited works in the U.S. at the Copley Society, Boston, the Boston Art Club, and had one-person shows at the Rowlands Gallery Boston, in 1908, and the Brookstreet Gallery London.  She also exhibited at the Yorkshire Artists Exhibitions, the Royal Academy, London and was a member of the New English Art Club, and Women’s International.
