Max Michael

German, 1823-1891

Max Michael studied in Hamburg under Lehmann, and in Paris with Couture.  Then he went to study in Italy, and then he began to teach in Berlin in 1875.

Member of the Naples Academy. 

He exhibited his works all throughout Europe at many exhibitions.  He won many medals in London, Munich, and Berlin where he won several gold medals. 

The Hamburg Museum has many of his works.
